Former Adventures in Odyssey writer Paul McCusker seems busier than ever since moving on from Focus on the Family to the Augustine Institute a few years ago. He has recently produced audio dramas such as Brother Francis, The Trials of Saint Patrick and Ode to Saint Cecilia. And following the release of nine Father Gilbert Mysteries audio productions for FOTF, Paul has since written two Father Gilbert books to continue the story, titled The Body Under the Bridge and Death in the Shadows. Those stories might sound a bit too intense for younger children, but that doesn't mean they can't be readers of other series, such as Paul McCusker's new book series for kids. These new books, called The Adventures of Nick and Sam, are recommended for kids ages seven and up. The first in the series is called Perfect Gifts. Check out the summary below:
Nicolas and Samantha Perry are twins that have just moved to the fictional town of Hope Springs, Colorado. In this first chapter book in the Adventures of Nick and Sam series, the twins are preparing to celebrate their birthday. Trouble unfolds as the twins get into hijinks by snooping in their parents' closet, go unprepared for a hike, and even run into a family of skunks in the woods! Written by the award-winning author Paul McCusker, join the Perry family, and the twins especially, on their adventures surrounding this summer birthday. This fun and thoughtful story brings to life the importance of choices, consequences, and how we respond to the choices we make and the consequences that result.
The second book in the series is called Hidden Treasures. Both books will be available for purchase in October 2018.
