Wooton Bassett's comic book hero Captain Absolutely first appeared on Adventures in Odyssey on The Truth Chronicles in 2008, and you might remember he most recently fought off the evil Lord Gargantuan Foulspleen on Album 56. And in September 2012 he made his comic strip debut in Clubhouse Magazine, which immediately became a regular feature. If you thought that was cool, then you'll be excited to know that those comics are now being collected together into a new Captain Absolutely book, where you can read all the way through from his origin story to his present day adventures. The comic book will release in April 2017. You can read the summary below:
After a computer explosion at the library, Josiah King takes cover in a room full of Bibles. He reads God’s Word for the first time that night, and (with the help of mysterious radioactive fumes) is transformed into a superhero—Captain Absolutely. He embarks on a battle for truth and justice, pitted against his ultimate nemesis, the notorious Dr. Relative.
This popular comic strip (a spin-off of the popular Adventures in Odyssey series and originally featured in Clubhouse magazine) entertains and engages imaginations while helping kids grasp the role of God’s Word and truth in making life decisions.
