There were a number of story arcs that concluded in Album 49: The Sky's the Limit. Some were more popular than others but regardless of that they all seemed to be set aside after the relaunch in 2010. But does that mean they still couldn't show up in future Adventures in Odyssey shows? Of course not. In this new poll we ask the question "Which Album 49 story arc should return?" You can vote for Connie's book, Kelly and her mother, Leonard and Everett Meltsner, Grady and his father, or Mandy and her family. Do you see any potential for these characters and their story arcs to make a comeback in an upcoming album? Then make sure to vote here.
Today our tenth poll has just been closed and the final results are in. We asked you what is your favorite invention at Whit's End and out of the eight options six received votes and two inventions received the majority of the votes. The Imagination Station came in first place with 11 votes but in second the Room of Consequence was only two votes behind. The Imagination Station has been used to experience the Bible and other moments in history and has been involved in a few sagas over the years. It has made more appearances than any other Whit's End invention, showing up in over 60 episodes. It was first unveiled in Album 5 and its latest version appeared most recently in Album 57. In contrast, the Room of Consequence has only appeared in about a dozen episodes. The other inventions on the list have appeared in very few episodes. Now that this poll is over, the AIO Update will be posting a new poll question shortly. In the meantime you can suggest your own poll questions here. Thank you for participating in our Adventures in Odyssey polls. Through Mr. Whittaker's inventions AIO characters have gone on all kinds of adventures and taken the audience with them. Some inventions have only appeared once, while others have spanned multiple albums and become an essential part of the show. Album 56 featured a resurgence of a number of inventions. That's why we've created this latest AIO Update poll question. We've selected a number of Whit's End inventions and are asking Adventures in Odyssey fans to choose their favorite one. Maybe you'll choose one that has appeared multiple times, or maybe you'll choose one that you wish you could hear more of. The options we have selected are BEAVRS, the Boredom Buster, the Edu-Link, the Gallery, the Imagination Station, the Inspiration Station, the Room of Consequence and the Transmuter. Vote for your favorite invention here. Our ninth poll has ended and the question has been answered. And according to the Adventures in Odyssey fans, the best Mr. Whittaker flashback episode is The Triangle, Parts 1 & 2, from Album 36: Danger Signals. In that show we hear how Whit met his wife Jenny in college and how their relationship caused tension with Whit's best friend, Jack Allen. Interestingly, the young Jack was played by writer Marshal Younger. This two-part episode was inspired by a line from For Whom the Wedding Bells Toll in Album 29: Signed, Sealed & Committed. When The Triangle first aired in March 2001 fans heard the name of a new writer to Adventures in Odyssey, Nathan Hoobler. Nathan has since written just under sixty episodes. We would like to thank everyone who took time to participate in this latest AIO Update poll. As you can see from the polling results, every single Mr. Whittaker flashback episode was someone's favorite. In second place Prequels of Love tied with Rescue from Manatugo Point & Operation Digout. Then came Silent Night and then the rest. Now that this particular poll has ended, we will have a new poll question up very soon. But in the meantime, you can send in your own poll question suggestions here. Little by little we have learned about the history of Adventures in Odyssey's central character, John Avery Whittaker. Those flashback episodes range from Whit's service in the US Navy during World War II, to when he met his wife Jenny, to his various career path changes, to when he and Jack met Blackbeard, to raising his children, to when he decided to start Whit's End. And these insights into Mr. Whittaker's life haven't stopped as the show has continued and as Whit's character has changed actors. Album 56: The Grand Design contained another flashback episode, proving once again that there are still many more interesting things we can hear from Whit's life experiences. For our latest poll we have selected eight options to choose from. They are Recollections, Thank You God, Rescue from Manatugo Point & Operation Digout, Blackbeard's Treasure, The Triangle (Parts 1 & 2), Silent Night, Prequels of Love, and Great Expectations. You can vote for the best Mr. Whittaker flashback episode here. Today the AIO Update's 8th poll has ended and the final numbers are in. According to the poll, the fans' clear favorite of the four villains Captain Absolutely has had to fight over the years on Adventures in Odyssey is Lord Gargantuan Foulspleen from the newest AIO episode, Push the Red Button, which had both a live version and an album version. Townsend Coleman, the voice of Jason Whittaker, also voiced Lord Foulspleen. You can hear from both Dr. Relative and the Unifier on The Truth Chronicles and Thug Clockripper is featured on Album 52: Cause and Effect. We only included the four Captain Absolutely villains from the Adventures in Odyssey radio drama in our poll and not the villains from the Clubhouse Magazine comics because we thought these four would be the most recognizable among all the Odyssey fans. We would like to thank everyone who took time to participate in this latest AIO poll. We will have a new poll question up very soon. In the meantime, you can send in your poll question suggestions here. Adventures in Odyssey has had its share of bad guys over the years and we've all had discussions about who we like better, Dr. Blackgaard or the Chairman, or Mr. Grote or Mr. Skint. But what about the villains Captain Absolutely has had to fight over the years? That's why we've created this latest poll to discuss just that. Who is your favorite nemesis of Wooton's popular comic book character Captain Absolutely? Could it be Dr. Relative, who was once a friend but turned into an enemy in Captain Absolutely's origin story? Or maybe it's the Unifier who tried to bring the world together as one, Thug Clockripper who wanted to create pointless entertainment, or even Lord Gargantuan Foulspleen who was on a mission to destroy truth, goodness and beauty. We have only included the four Captain Absolutely villains from the Adventures in Odyssey radio drama and not the villains from the Clubhouse Magazine comics because these four will be the most well-known and well-remembered as time goes on. Also, this website deals mostly with the AIO radio drama canon, not the additional stories in Focus on the Family's magazines. Cast your vote here. Our seventh poll question has now ended and the final results have all been counted. According to the poll, the most fans visiting this website have been listening to Adventures in Odyssey faithfully for 6-10 years. Others are newer fans, having listened between 1 and 5 years, and still others have been listening to AIO from the beginning, for 21-25 years. It's good to see that we have so many different groups represented here. Whether you've been listening to Adventures in Odyssey for 25 years or just started listening this year, we're glad we can all share together in our appreciation for this excellent Christian radio drama. We would like to thank everyone who took time to participate in this latest AIO poll. We will have a new poll question up very soon. You can send in your poll question suggestions here. Adventures in Odyssey has been around since November 1987. Some fans started listening from the beginning and have continued to enjoy these worthwhile stories through the years.
