The Good Goers Picture of the week allows you to email in a photo of yourself involved in an act of service for a chance to win a prize. Each week a winner will be announced who will receive a free copy of the new collection Our Favorites. During the contest period you can submit one new photo each week. Today Brock Eastman and Evan Reedall have released another Social Shout Out video. This time they answer your questions about the upcoming ACTS contest. They talk about entering the contest through your local Christian bookstore, how to record your hours of service, and what the age limit to enter is. They also discuss tomorrow's live webcast and what it's like to be an AIO ambassador. They are not yet discussing the new Odyssey Adventure Club, but the logo is featured prominently in the video. Watch it below. If you haven't had a chance yet to enter The Odyssey Scoop's latest contest, you may find there is a little more time left than you thought. The May 16th deadline for the ScoopYourself contest has been changed to Friday, May 31st in an effort to increase participation. The purpose of this new contest is for fans to show off their Adventures in Odyssey collections in a new and original way. Even if you don't have very many AIO products, remember that you will be judged on creativity. The various prizes include Album 56: The Grand Design, Passages: Darien's Rise, Silver Celebration, the 2012 Official Guide and iTunes gift cards. Find out more details here. Brock Eastman and Evan Reedall are back with another Social Shout Out video. In this edition Brock dresses up as a founding father and Evan talks about how the Get in the Show contest last summer was a great foundation for this year's A Call to Serve contest. Brock also declares a "Declaration of Dependence" and explains how the AIO team is depending on the fans to make this latest contest bigger than ever. They hope Adventures in Odyssey fans worldwide will come together to do 50,000 hours of service this summer. Watch the video below. For those of you who are thinking of entering, the official rules for the A Call to Serve contest have been posted on whitsend.org. The rules say that participants must be legal residents of the United States and between 8 and 15 years of age. Video entries of two minutes or less can be submitted from June 1 to August 16. Videos will be judged based on creativity, poise and articulation. And according to the rules, the one hundred third place winners will, in addition to receiving a copy of Album 57: A Call to Something More, be given a free one-year subscription to the Odyssey Adventure Club valued at approximately $180. Keep in mind that the cost for a yearly subscription will likely be significantly lower than this value. Also, the AIO Facebook page has hinted that the mission trip grand prize location is where Spanish is the spoken language. That exact location will be revealed on May 22. Today in the latest video episode from the Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast, Bob and Jesse reveal the A.C.T.S. contest! This summer, you’re invited to be part of something really extraordinary. Adventures In Odyssey presents A.C.T.S., which stands for A Call To Serve. Evan Reedall explains what a call to serve means and then several kids explain how they are using their gifts to serve others. In this new contest join thousands of kids across the country by making a commitment to serve your family, your community and even your world! Writer and director Nathan Hoobler even gives fans a few tips for making a really good video to send in to enter the contest. One hundred kids who audition will receive a free copy of Album 57: A Call to Something More and twelve will get a personal call from Odyssey host Chris Anthony. Don't forget to submit questions for May 22 when Katie Leigh and Chris Anthony will be online to answer your questions and announce exactly where the grand prize mission trip will take place. Near the end of the podcast Dr. Brock Lee also shows up. Watch the latest video podcast. In a new Focus on the Family press release, more details about the A.C.T.S. Summer of Service Challenge have been released. Starting in June, the challenge will encourage the children participating to complete twelve hours of voluntary service throughout the summer break. All participants will receive free stickers and a free Adventures in Odyssey episode to download. Focus hopes that this challenge will "help children learn the value of giving their time, talents, and abilities to help people in need." Their goal is to have at least 4,200 kids sign up to serve, for a total of 50,000 hours of service. If you remember, 5,500 kids participated in last year's Get in the Show contest. A live launch party webcast will take place on May 22 with Chris Anthony and Katie Leigh. They will talk about their favorite AIO episodes and also announce the contest's grand prize trip location. Over the summer kids will be able to enter the contest by sending in a two-minute video that "shares how they serve and why they would like to be one of the first official Adventures in Odyssey Ambassadors." A hundred third place winners will win a $25 AIO product as their prize. Of those, 24 finalists will have their videos posted for online voting and the two grand prize winners, a boy and a girl, will be announced on September 25. The grand prize includes going on a Good Goers mission trip, becoming an AIO ambassador, and being featured on bonus material for Album 58, the Official Podcast and Clubhouse magazine. Tricia Goyer, one of the authors of the new Adventures in Odyssey devotional book called Mealtime Devotions, will be available to chat with fans on Facebook on May 1 at 5:00 PM PDT or 8:00 PM on the east coast during a Facebook Chat Party. The devotional book was released this month and should be available now for purchase at your local Christian bookstore. Tricia and the Odyssey crew will be chatting with interesting guests, answering live questions from the fans, sharing recipes, hosting a fun trivia contest, offering tips about making mealtime in your family count and even doing a few free giveaways.
