We told you a number of weeks ago that Adventures in Odyssey would begin airing in Spanish in late September under the title Aventuras en Odisea. We can now announce that the first three episodes produced are available for digital download for $1.99 each. They are called 001: El Disparate Tio Juan Ca, 004: Connie Ilega a la ciudad, and 007: Promesas, Promesas. These episodes are of course based off of Whit's Flop, Connie Comes to Town and Promises, Promises. Some changes, however, have been made to adapt the show for a Spanish audience. For example, Whit's name is Juan Carlos Castillo, Whit's End is called "Club del Castillo", Davey Holcomb is Oscar Polanco, Connie Kendall is Connie Campus and is from Mexico City instead of California, Eugene Meltsner is Eugenio Mendez, and Tom Riley is Tomas Reyes. More episodes are on their way but in the meantime you can download the first three here. Also, visit the official Spanish website.
The next episode review from the AIO Update is of Recollections from Album 1: The Adventure Begins. In this episode Whit's best friend, Tom Riley, tells Connie the story of how Whit's End was created amid the tragic circumstances of the death of Whit's wife, Jenny Whittaker. You can read our full review below. The front cover of the first of the Bible KidVentures books, Old Testament Stories, has been completed. This book from Focus on the Family has four Bible stories told from the perspective of a child and features the biblical characters of Moses and Aaron, David and Goliath, the prophet Isaiah and more. Read the full summary. As you can see from this new cover, it depicts the battle between the shepherd David and the giant Goliath from 1 Samuel. Both the Old Testament Stories book and the New Testament Stories book will be released in April 2014. At this point we don't know if these two books will be the only ones in the Bible KidVentures series or if further sequels will be produced. Stay tuned. |
