As you can see in the photo posted on the Adventures in Odyssey Facebook page, Brock Eastman is holding a copy of 90 Devotions for Kids, a new devotional book from the AIO Team. It will be released later this fall. And if you look at the bottom left corner of the photo, you can catch a glimpse of the cover artwork for the 10th Imagination Station book, Challenge on the Hill of Fire. Just click on Brock's photo to zoom in a bit. In this book, Patrick and Beth are kidnapped by Celtic Druids in 433 and are headed to certain death when followers of a former Irish Slave (Saint Patrick, called Patritius in this book) save them. The cousins find themselves in the midst of a power struggle between Ireland’s King Logaire, Patritius, and the leader of the Druids, Lochru. A spiritual showdown begins on the Hill of Slane when Patritius builds a fire, challenging the King’s authority. Will Patritius prove to the king that the God of the Bible is the true God? Or will the king take sides with the Druids? The Emerald Isle holds many tales and legends, but this story of truth and standing strong for God is not one to be missed.
AIO episodes were first released in the iTunes store as part of albums that could only be sold together for the flat price of $17.99. But slowly more and more single Adventures in Odyssey episodes are being released for $1.99 each. So if you happen to missing an episode and don't want to buy the whole album again, you can now just buy that one episode. Adventures in Odyssey albums were recently released on iTunes. And it appears that Focus on the Family has their other audio drama series available on iTunes as well. You can now purchase Radio Theatre titles for varying prices. It ranges from $1.99 for the first Father Gilbert Mysteries episode, to S119.99 for the entire Chronicles of Narnia collection. You can find Radio Theatre in the iTunes store if you just search "Radio Theatre" and then select "Music." If you don't yet have iTunes, you can download the program here. And be sure to watch out for Focus on the Family's upcoming Radio Theatre drama, Oliver Twist, which is being released online this October. As many of you probably know, the Adventures in Odyssey BlogCast is an AIO fan podcast hosted by Austin and Tasha. On the show they review the latest Odyssey episodes and even interview fans and the cast and crew. We don't usually report on fan podcasts, but we thought this instance was an important news event. In the newest episode of the AIO BlogCast they discuss their Album 56 predictions, and they also announce that their sixth season will be their final one. The podcast will be ending after Album 56 has finished airing on the radio, and it may be extended into January or February. You can listen to Episode 38 to hear the beginning of the end of an unforgettable Odyssey podcast. The Adventures in Odyssey Blog, however, will still be posting news and other updates in the future, so continue to stay tuned. And don't forget to listen to all of season six of the AIO BlogCast, which they promise will be the best season ever. It looks likes the entire collection of regular Adventures in Odyssey albums, including The Lost Episodes, is being added to the iTunes store. There are currently 55 titles on iTunes and that number will grow as the remaining albums are added. Also, as you can see in the picture above, Album 10: Other Times, Other Places has been repackaged with a brown border, which is similar to The Truth Chronicles. The AIO episodes on iTunes cannot be purchased separately and must be bought together in an album, which costs $17.99. However, it looks like certain bonus features can be purchased separately. So if you bought the CD set of Album 55: The Deep End and were disappointed that you didn't get the bonus recording feature, you can now download it from iTunes for just $0.99! If you don't have iTunes yet, you can download it here. If you are looking for AIO on iTunes just search "Adventures in Odyssey" in the iTunes store and then select "Music" instead of "Podcasts." The AIO Update has another poll out today. Do you love the classic Adventures in Odyssey episodes from the early days? We'd like to know some of your favorite mysteries from that era. That's why we created our new poll on that very subject. What is your favorite early AIO mystery? Is it The Case of the Secret Room, Heatwave, The Treasure of LeMonde!, or Suspicious Minds? Tell us when you vote here. In the latest episode of the Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast you can hear a free episode from Album 56, called Happy Hunting. This episode was previously released temporarily as a free download in August, but now it will be online permanently. In this show Penny Wise embarks on a frantic search to find happiness, but in the process she makes everyone around her miserable. Listen online at Whit'sEnd.org here. Also, you can vote for the new cover of Album 26: Back on the Air. You can find out all the details about this here. Which cover do you think is the best? After you've voted, let us know in the comments which cover you chose and why.
Our fourth poll question has now ended and the final results are in. According to the poll, most Adventures in Odyssey fans want Richard Maxwell to return to the show, however, it looks like this was a tough decision. Bryan Dern came very close, as did the other contenders. We haven't had a poll come this close before and we'd want to thank you all for participating. We will have a new poll question up very soon. Send in your poll question suggestions. |
