For those of you Adventures in Odyssey fans who are members of the Odyssey Adventure Club and have already finished listening to all of Album 58: The Ties That Bind, you probably have one or two questions you'd love the AIO team to answer. Well, there's good news. Right now the Official Podcast is planning another Ask the Producers episode and is asking for your questions for both Paul McCusker and Dave Arnold. You can submit them here. In addition to that, The Whit's End Podcast is also planning an upcoming interview with writer and director Paul McCusker, specifically about Album 58 and the future of the show. Submit questions here. As always, please avoid leaving spoilers in the AIO Update's comments section as many fans will be waiting to hear Album 58 either when the episodes are released for sale outside the club or when they air on the radio and online.
The next Adventures in Odyssey episode review from the AIO Update is of Choices from Album 4: The FUN-damentals. In this episode Lucy is in a dilemma when her science teacher asks her to do a report on evolution. You can read our episode review below. The final two Odyssey Adventure Club episodes recorded this session in California have been revealed. They will be called Pinocchio: The Tale of a Foolish Puppet, Parts 1 & 2. According to the AIO Facebook page, Whit Hertford (Jay Smouse) plays Pinocchio, Jess Harnell (Wooton Bassett) plays the Ringmaster and Audrey Wasilewski (Katrina Meltsner) plays a feline con artist. You can check out all the photos from the Odyssey Adventure Club: Season Two. Today was another session of recording for the AIO team at Salami Studios and two more Odyssey Adventure Club episodes were recorded. The first one is called "B-TV: Truth" and will be the first appearance of this episode format since B-TV: Live in 2008, although one could assume there will be no appearance from Bernard Walton this time around because actor Dave Madden passed away in January, unless there are some unaired audio clips of him being used. The other possibility is that Bernard may have been recast, although that appears unlikely. That episode will feature characters such as Nicodemus, Falsehood, and Harlowcus Doylecus. The second OAC episode recorded today will be called "Take It on Trust," which features Jay Smouse. In reference to this episode, the AIO Facebook page teased "Could Jay have a crush?" We'll just have to wait and see. You can check out the photos from the Odyssey Adventure Club: Season Two. Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming shows. Update: The AIO Facebook page has confirmed that they have not recast the character of Bernard Walton. Referring to the late actor Dave Madden, they said, "The B-TV label lives on as part of Dave's legacy. It just didn't feel right to rename those shows something else." Today's Adventures in Odyssey episode review from the AIO Update is of Bad Company from Album 4: The FUN-damentals. In this episode Connie attends a Bible study with a questionable leader, while Donna hangs out with a girl who may not be honest. You can read our full episode review below. We told you in March that Phil Lollar, one of the co-creators of Adventures in Odyssey, would be returning to the writing team and today we got our first pictures of Phil in studio from the AIO Facebook page. Not only is Phil writing episodes again, but he has also returned as a director. The episode "Walter's Flying Bus" will be an Odyssey Adventure Club episode to be released in 2015 and will be based on the children's book of the same name. The Facebook page posted a photo of the script. If you look closely at the second page of the script on the table you might be able to spot that quite a few scenes in this episode apparently take place in the Inspiration Station, an invention of Whit's that hasn't been heard from since the opening of Album 51. The AIO team has now confirmed that this underused invention does indeed return. Actors Zach Callison, the first voice of Matthew Parker, and Brandon Gilberstadt, the voice of Jared DeWhite, also returned to the studio, although they aren't voicing their original characters. Instead, they came back to play the young disciples Joshua and John in the upcoming OAC episode "Follow Me." According to the AIO team, this episode will be "a 'what if' tale set in Jesus' day." It is written by both Phil Lollar and Marshal Younger. You can see more photos from Season Two of the Odyssey Adventure Club here. If you haven't checked out our editorials section before, it's where the AIO Update posts original, opinionated articles about your favorite audio drama, Adventures in Odyssey. Our latest editorial is called Triple Trouble. It discusses the three new bullies that have been added to the show since the 2010 Relaunch beginning with Album 51 and compares them to the show's classic bully, Rodney Rathbone. This editorial makes no reference to Album 58 so you will not encounter any spoilers if you have listened up to Album 57: A Call to Something More. You can rate the editorial out of 10 after you've read it. You can also submit suggestions for future editorials. Your input is much appreciated. |
