The Adventures in Odyssey cast and crew were in California this week to finish up recording episodes for Season Four of the Odyssey Adventure Club, which will air in 2017. We learned that Whit's End intern Renee Carter will appear in at least two episodes: Angels in Horsehair, as well as The Legend of Sperry McGerk, an Imagination Station adventure back to Odyssey's history during the time of the Civil War. Besides Sperry McGerk, the cast includes a Confederate general, an escaped slave, and the mayor of Odyssey. Camilla and Matthew Parker, Buddy Norman, and a dinosaur hunter named Reginald Bone will appear in an episode called A Perfect Testimony, written by a new writer, Sam Suksiri.
The team also recorded the multi-part episode There and Back Again, where Whit and Jason travel to New Zealand and run into a mystery that must be solved and family ties that must be mended. The show will include Nick Smouse, Jay Smouse's father, who works as a scientist. When questioned whether Jay Smouse himself would be returning for this episode as well, the AIO Facebook page simply replied with a smiling emoji, and hinted that a mysterious actor traveling from London would be in the episode. And of course, we know that Whit Hertford, who plays Jay, recently moved to London, so it's fair to assume Jay Smouse will indeed be making an appearance. We last heard from Jay in the OAC episode Take It on Trust, but his last time on a regular album outside of the club was on Album 58.
It was also mentioned that the upcoming two-part musical called Legacy, which will be included on Album 62, will not only feature Jules Kendall, but also "a singing Buck Oliver." You can check out the AIO Facebook page for plenty of photos and videos from this latest batch of newly recorded episodes.
