This month the Adventures in Odyssey Club released a new exclusive episode called Beyond Repair, in which Pastor Wilson Knox tries to help a conflicted young woman, Alicia, who decides to visit her father in prison. The episode is affiliated with the ministry of Prison Fellowship and project Angel Tree. Now the Official Podcast has just put out an interview with Patti Hammonds, senior manager with Angel Tree. She talks about the true story that inspired this episode, why a Christmas show is airing in October and how we can share Jesus' love by helping others. She also discusses the kids involved with Angel Tree, the importance of second chances, and sharing the gospel. Plus, we hear a preview of Album 65. Check out the podcast interview.
Longtime Adventures in Odyssey writer and director Bob Hoose was recently interviewed by the hosts of the Official Podcast about a new AIO Club episode, A Predicament of Biblical Proportions. Bob and Candi Cushman, the founder of Bring Your Bible to School, discuss religious freedom, the emotional connections that drama creates, and the changes to the episode script from draft to draft. They also talk about the show's similarities to the Album 42 episode Called on in Class, the creation of the character Buddy Norman, the importance of faith and more. Check out the podcast interview. But the Official Podcast isn't the only place to find Odyssey interviews. The AIO Blog also had a chance to interview Bob Hoose earlier this year. In that interview Bob talks about his favorite episodes and characters, and sheds light on an upcoming story arc featuring Morrie Rydell. You can listen to that interview here. The Adventures in Odyssey cast and crew were just in Burbank, California recording new exclusive episodes for the AIO Club. A brand-new show entitled B-TV: Idolatry will have a skit in which Will Ryan and Chris Anthony reprise their roles as Madge and Guy all the way back from Album 1, and will also feature an impression of Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones. As you might be able to tell from the photo, actor Whit Hertford is back in his role of the popular character Jay Smouse. In the episode Walk Worthy, Buddy Norman runs into Jay at a faith-based scouts organization. You can watch a video of the actor on the AIO Facebook page. There's an upcoming show called Charlotte, which features Renee Carter, some backstory from Mr. Whittaker's past and deals with the topic of regret. Along with young Whit, the show also includes young Wilson Knox, Whit's wife Jenny, and Charlotte Whittaker-Knox. In the episode Mean and Green, Connie's high school rival Tiffani returns to town, and also stars Penny, Jules, Valerie and Ms. Adelaide. Olivia Parker attends a leadership conference and takes on a variety of accents in the show The New Olivia. And finally, the episode Beyond Repair features Pastor Wilson Knox helping a conflicted young woman visit her father in prison. All these episodes and more will be available exclusively on the AIO Club next year. The AIO team also had the chance to rehearse for the upcoming live show which will take place on the Focus on the Family cruise in November. The Adventures in Odyssey team was just in the recording studio this past week working on new episodes for next season of the AIO Club. One major piece of news we've learned so far via the AIO Facebook page is that Camilla Parker is now being played by a new voice actor, Lilly Mae Stewart. Camilla was first voiced by Sydney Shiotani, and then by Michaela Dean. Lilly will appear in the new episode The Last Straw, as well as the Room of Consequence adventure called Rewinding the Big Picture. And it sounds like it's going to be an exciting season. The upcoming episode Failing to the Finish Line features the return of the Square One Club, Matthew Parker's group of inventors which first appeared in Album 52. Wooton's comic book hero Drake returns in the Kids' Radio show Drake and the Time that Time Forgot. Meanwhile, Penny and Olivia try to find romantic partners for both Connie and Whit in the episode Met His Match, and Eugene and Buck try to build a tree house in Divided We Fall. In some sad news, the AIO team announced that the voice of Dr. Lily Graham, Lori Tritel, passed away earlier this month. Are you looking forward to these new episodes?
