Books 13 to 15 in the Imagination Station series are titled The Redcoats Are Coming, Captured on the High Seas, and Surprise at Yorktown. And now you'll be able to experience this three-book story arc about the American Revolution all in one omni-book. This new three-pack will be released for sale in May 2016. Travel alongside Patrick and Beth as they meet heroes such as Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock, get captured by the British, and sneak through trenches and race across battlefields to warn General George Washington about a dangerous spy. This upcoming compilation is already available for preorder from CBD.
On May 2nd, 1955, exactly 60 years ago, author C.S. Lewis published the book The Magician's Nephew. It was in fact the sixth book to be published in The Chronicles of Narnia series, but chronologically it takes place first before the rest of the books. As you probably know, Focus on the Family's Radio Theatre has produced many different and enjoyable audio dramatizations over the years, including adaptations of all seven Narnia books. And if you don't already own them or you just want to update your collection, now could be the time to do it. As of this month the repackaged versions of The Chronicles of Narnia dramas featuring new cover artwork are now available in stores and online. You can order yourself a complete set from Christian Book Distributors.
You might have noticed a change on our news feed today. We at the AIO Update have decided to switch over to a new comment hosting service called Disqus, which is widely used on other sites. It's the same system The Odyssey Scoop and the AIO Wiki use in fact, so if you've made an account to comment on there before, it'll work here too. But if you haven't yet, it's very easy to make an account. You can even use your Facebook, Twitter or Google account to do so. Now you won't have to enter in your email information every time you want to post a comment because the system will keep you signed in across any website you visit. This will make it much easier to keep track of who's posting what, and especially to verify when a moderator posts an official comment. The only downside to this switch is that all previous comments which were made using the old system will no longer appear on the website. But we're confident that making it easier than ever before to leave a comment will help foster more discussion on the AIO Update. What do you think about this? Why not leave a comment down below in our new comments section powered by Disqus.
It was last month that we told you that The Chronicles of Narnia Collector's Edition from Focus on the Family Radio Theatre had been released. That set contains all seven audio dramas based on the books from C.S. Lewis' beloved series, plus a full color map of the world of Narnia. It's available now at a great price and would make a fantastic Christmas gift. But if you'd rather not buy all the Narnian tales in one collection, you'll be glad to know that the individual stories are being repackaged with new and beautiful covers. These new CDs should be available for purchase in stores around May 2015. Which version are you planning on getting? What do you think of these new cover designs? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
In July we announced the upcoming release of The Chronicles of Narnia Collector's Edition from Focus on the Family Radio Theatre, which contains all seven audio dramas on 19 CDs. At the time the new set was scheduled to come out in early 2015, but since then things have been moving more quickly. The CD set is now already available for preorder and should arrive in stores sometime this month. And besides featuring almost 22 hours of top-quality family-friendly audio entertainment, this special collector's set also contains a beautiful color map of the world of Narnia. It's the perfect gift to pick up for your family and friends this Christmas season. Look for it at your local Christian bookstore very soon.
Last September we released our new logo design for the AIO Update to replace the temporary logo that had been created the week before. Now that we've had the chance to reflect on it for a few months we've decided to change a few things for the latest version of the AIO Update's logo. This new updated logo uses a different font which is less jagged and more readable. The colors have also been brightened slightly to create a warmer look. Our social network pages, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+, have now been updated with this new logo. We have also made some changes to the AIO Update's homepage. You'll find that our new homepage design goes into detail in describing some of our features and helps direct new visitors to specific sections they might be interested in on the website.

We can now reveal to you the title and summary for the 14th book in the Imagination Station series. This next book will be called "Captured on the High Seas" and is the second installment of a three-book story arc about the American Revolution. It will be released for purchase in May 2014. Also, the cover of the third Imagination Station compilation book has been completed. This next book will contain Book 7: Secret of the Prince's Tomb, Book 8: Battle for Cannibal Island and Book 9: Escape to the Hiding Place. It will be released in stores in May 2014. Here's the summary: When they step into the Imagination Station, kids experience an unforgettable journey filled with action-packed adventure to inspire their imaginations. With each book, they’re whisked away with cousins Patrick and Beth to embark on a new journey around the world and back in time. This 3-pack book includes books 7-9.
In May 2011 the AIO Update was founded with a logo that incorporated the Adventures in Odyssey logo into it. But today we are proud to reveal the website's brand-new logo design which includes some aspects of the old logo but is simpler and less cluttered. All our social network pages, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+, have now been updated with this new logo. What do you think of the new design? Let us know in the comments section.
The reason for this change is that last week Focus on the Family asked us to remove the AIO logo, which we had incorporated into the AIO Update logo, from our Twitter account icon so as not to confuse fans who were trying to determine which was the official account. At the time we replaced all our social network icons with a temporary logo while we decided on how to proceed with a new design. While FOTF did not ask us to change the logo on our website, we felt it was important for the sake of continuity to display the same logo. That's why we have designed our new logo to be incorporated on both our website and social network pages. We hope you like the new look and continue to enjoy following our Adventures in Odyssey news updates and opinion pieces.
Despite our efforts to clearly display on our site and social network pages that the AIO Update is not affiliated with Focus on the Family, it appears there has still been some confusion among fans about this. As a result, Adventures in Odyssey has asked us to remove the AIO logo from our social network icons. We have created a temporary logo on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ while we work to create a permanent one which does not feature the AIO logo. If you have any ideas for what our new logo should look like, please leave your suggestions down in the comments below. Also, don't forget to check our new poll question if you haven't already.
With this latest release, all the original Adventures in Odyssey novels by Paul McCusker will finally have all been repackaged. Danger Lies Ahead is the second omni-book in the series and now has a green border to frame the artwork. The other two compilation books are Strange Journey Back and Point of No Return, both of which have already been repackaged with the latest version of the AIO logo. Danger Lies Ahead includes four Odyssey novels. They are Lights Out at Camp What-a-Nut, The King's Quest, Danger Lies Ahead, and A Carnival of Secrets. These stories follow Mark Prescott as he has trouble with a bully at summer camp, and as he enters the Imagination Station to do battle during the time of knights and noblemen. We also see Jack Davis having difficulty knowing who to trust when he encounters some strange things going on, and Patti Eldridge begins to experience bizarre things after consulting a fortune-teller at the carnival. You can expect to see the book with its updated cover in stores soon.
The front cover of the Adventures in Odyssey book 90 Devotions for Kids in Matthew has now been completed. This book is a sequel to 90 Devotions for Kids, which was released in stores in October 2012 and featured Connie, Eugene, Wooton and Whit on its cover. This next devotional will focus on the book of Matthew. As you can see on the cover, it shows Whit and Eugene stepping out of the Imagination Station and in the background John the Baptist is baptizing Jesus. You can click on the image to view it at a higher resolution. This artwork, which was created by Gary Locke, was previously shown in Clubhouse Magazine, but not in the format of a cover for this devotional book. 90 Devotions for Kids in Matthew will contain "life-changing values" and will be available for purchase in October 2013. You can find more details about it here.
Also, the cover for the next Imagination Station omni-book has just been released. On the cover it has the artwork from Book 4: Revenge of the Red Knight but inside the book also includes Book 5: Showdown with the Shepherd and Book 6: Problems in Plymouth. And according to this latest cover, the Imagination Station series now has over 160,000 books sold. That is indeed a milestone to be proud of and we hope that number continues to grow as we move forward. This second Imagination Station Series Omni-book will be released in stores in October 2013.
The first Imagination Station omni-book was released in September 2012 and it included the first three titles in the series. It is now being followed up with another 3-pack which will include Book 4: Revenge of the Red Knight, Book 5: Showdown with the Shepherd, and Book 6: Problems in Plymouth. This will conclude the books whose artwork is framed in with blue and whose titles use alliteration. The books that follow are framed in with a green border and their titles do not use alliteration. This second omni-book features the writing talents of Marianne Hering, Paul McCusker, Brock Eastman, and Marshal Younger. Also, this is a good time to mention that Brock Eastman has just become a producer for Adventures in Odyssey. So, congratulations to him. While we don't yet know what the finished cover for this upcoming book will look like, we do now have a release date for it. This next 3-pack will be released in Christian bookstores in October 2013, at the same time as Book 12: Danger on a Silent Night. We'll continue to report more details to you when we find anything new.
The Passages books, written by Adventures in Odyssey writer Paul McCusker, are being re-released into two large omni-books called the Marus Manuscripts, named after the world of Marus that these stories take place in. Volume 1's cover was released last November and includes the first three books in the Passages series. Its cover is brown and frames a picture of Darien’s Rise, the very first book. Volume 2 includes the last three books to complete the series and its cover is blue and frames a picture of Fendar’s Legacy, the last book to date. Interestingly, this is the first time the Passages books will not be branded with an Adventures in Odyssey logo, despite the fact that the characters John Avery Whittaker and Jack Allen appear in the books. Volume 1 will be available for purchase in stores in May and Volume 2 will be released in August, the same month as Album 57: A Call to Something More.
The third omni-book compilation of the Adventures in Odyssey novels, Point of No Return, was the first book in the series to be repackaged and given the new AIO logo. Now that all the Odyssey albums have been repackaged and the animated videos are being re-released with new covers, it makes sense to finish off Paul McCusker's novels about Mark Prescott and the world of Odyssey before the time of the radio drama. Strange Journey Back is the first compilation book of the AIO novels and includes the stories about Mark being a newcomer to Whit’s End, solving a mystery about a slashed bike tire, the discovery of a secret cave and a gang called the Israelites, and finding a secret in Mr. Whittaker’s attic. The second compilation book, Danger Lies Ahead, will be the last one in the trilogy to be given a brand-new look. Each compilation book contains four of the original Adventures in Odyssey novels.
Thanks to The Odyssey Scoop for the news.
According to The Odyssey Scoop, the Adventures in Odyssey video series will no longer be divided up into two distinct groups, the Original Series and the New Series. Instead, all the AIO videos are going to be re-released this spring with the same cover design and it looks like they will still retain their previous cover artwork. They could have chosen to depict different scenes on the covers to give the video series a completely new feel, but continuity prevailed. This new cover design is much more similar to the Odyssey albums and will even be branded with the new AIO logo, despite having been originally released long before the relaunch. We've seen other products such as the Kidsboro books, the Original Novels, and Passages: Darien's Rise all been given the latest AIO logo after the fact. This, however, has not been the practice with the regular Odyssey albums. Albums 1-50 all still have the previous AIO logo, while the albums beyond that have the new logo and cover design. The price for each DVD will be $9.99. It is unknown at this point whether you will be able to purchase all 17 videos together in one set at a reduced price.
Thanks to The Odyssey Scoop for this news.
It looks like the last three albums of the Gold Audio Series have now been repackaged so they all look like the rest of the Adventures in Odyssey albums. These new repacks are Album 9: Just in Time, Album 11: It's Another Fine Day, and Album 14: Meanwhile, in Another Part of Town. Also, the cover of Album 42: No Way Out has finally been repackaged as well. Probably the only remaining albums left to alter are albums 47, 49 and 50, because they still contain the "Celebrating 20 Years" ribbon around the logo, which was already removed from Album 48: Moment of Truth. You can click on the covers below to view each one in a larger version.
We have known what the repack covers for Album 10: Other Times, Other Places, Album 12: At Home and Abroad, and Album 26: Back on the Air would look like ever since the images were first released at a low quality on iTunes in September. But now the final versions of these covers are out. You can click on the pictures to view a higher resolution for each new repack cover.
Thanks to the AIO Wiki for this news.
Did you catch what was on Brock Eastman's computer screen in the latest episode of the Official Adventures in Odyssey Podcast? If you look closely you can see some repack album covers. Three of those new covers, Album 10, Album 12, and Album 26 were already shown when they were released on iTunes last month. However, the repack for Album 42: No Way Out has never been previewed before. If you click on the picture to view a higher resolution you can see it has a dark orange frame, similar to previous Odyssey albums such as Album 21 or Album 32. Check back soon for the final versions of all of these new covers to be released.
It looks likes the entire collection of regular Adventures in Odyssey albums, including The Lost Episodes, is being added to the iTunes store. There are currently 55 titles on iTunes and that number will grow as the remaining albums are added. Also, as you can see in the picture above, Album 10: Other Times, Other Places has been repackaged with a brown border, which is similar to The Truth Chronicles. The AIO episodes on iTunes cannot be purchased separately and must be bought together in an album, which costs $17.99. However, it looks like certain bonus features can be purchased separately. So if you bought the CD set of Album 55: The Deep End and were disappointed that you didn't get the bonus recording feature, you can now download it from iTunes for just $0.99!
If you don't have iTunes yet, you can download it here. If you are looking for AIO on iTunes just search "Adventures in Odyssey" in the iTunes store and then select "Music" instead of "Podcasts."
