Listen as several dozen Odyssey voice actors call in for the 25th anniversary, plus Focus on the Family President Jim Daly and astronaut Terry Virts offer birthday greetings. Watch here. According to Tyndale House Publishers, the new special CD collection from Adventures in Odyssey containing the actors' favorite episodes from the past 25 years will be released in Spring 2013. You can learn why these episodes rise to the top for the voices of Odyssey while you listen to over 6 hours of values-based entertainment. This upcoming collection also has the live 25th Adventures In Odyssey Birthday Bash show recorded in Dallas on June 16, 2012 on a special bonus DVD. You can preorder your copy for $24.25 from Amazon. This is a list of the 24 episodes and the actors who chose them:
The Passages books series is being released in omni-book style, just like past Adventures in Odyssey book series like Kidsboro, the original Odyssey novels, and the Imagination Station series. Volume 1 of the "Marus Manuscripts" includes the first three books in the Passages series: Darien's Rise, Arin's Judgment and Annison's Risk. It will be released and available for purchase in May 2013. If you don't yet own any Passages books, now would be the perfect time to start your collection. Volume 2, containing the last three Passages books, is expected to be released later next year. Thanks to the Odyssey Scoop for the news. The cover sketch for the next Imagination Station story has been revealed. It features a dragon and a knight. The artwork for this book series is done by David Hohn. Book 11: Hunt for the Devil's Dragon is written by both Marianne Hering and Wayne Thomas Batson. It is expected be released in stores for purchase next summer. You'll find more titles in the Imagination Station book series at this link. You can click on the image to the left to view it in a larger version. What do you think of the cover sketch? Let us know down below in the comments. It looks like the last three albums of the Gold Audio Series have now been repackaged so they all look like the rest of the Adventures in Odyssey albums. These new repacks are Album 9: Just in Time, Album 11: It's Another Fine Day, and Album 14: Meanwhile, in Another Part of Town. Also, the cover of Album 42: No Way Out has finally been repackaged as well. Probably the only remaining albums left to alter are albums 47, 49 and 50, because they still contain the "Celebrating 20 Years" ribbon around the logo, which was already removed from Album 48: Moment of Truth. You can click on the covers below to view each one in a larger version.
Brock Eastman has released another interview which he conducted at Adventures in Odyssey's Get in the Show Finale on November 3rd. This one is with Zach Callison, the voice of Matthew Parker. He talks about his inspiration to start acting, how he has performed in plays, how he is currently part of a rock band, and what working in Hollywood is like. Read the full interview here. Chris Anthony hosts Adventures in Odyssey and according to her Facebook fan page, she will be heading back into the studio on December 11th of this year to record new episodes. This latest information seems to contradict earlier news from the official Odyssey Twitter account which claimed the recording of Album 57 was going to begin in January 2013. It seems the mostly likely explanation is that the recording for Album 57 was moved up. Either that or the AIO Team is recording something in December different from Album 57, whatever that is. Update: AIO has confirmed they will start recording Album 57 in December. Are you a fan of Dave Madden, the voice of local curmudgeon Bernard Walton on Adventures in Odyssey? And how about Alan Young, the voice of Jack Allen? Then you should know that both of them have released memoirs they have written about their acting careers. Reuben on Wry, by Dave Madden, includes his years growing up in a small midwest town, behind the scenes accounts of his experiences on The Partridge Family, never before published photos, his life in "semi-retirement" and much more. In Mister Ed and Me and More, by Alan Young, readers will learn details from his personal life such as when he was: cast in films as the all-American boy, even though he was born in England and raised in Canada; handpicked by George Burns to star in Mister Ed; the writer and voice of Scrooge McDuck for Disney's Mickey's Christmas Carol; and was friends with Hollywood elite including Clint Eastwood, Rod Taylor, Mae West and Marilyn Monroe. If you have enjoyed listening to these two great talents on Odyssey over the years, consider adding these books to your collection. |
