The twelve newest episodes from Adventures in Odyssey, compiled into Album 57: A Call to Something More, are now all available for purchase online as digital downloads. The episodes are for sale individually and together as a full album. Right now you can find Album 57 on Amazon or Christian Book Distributors. The CD set, which includes the same bonus features as the digital version, will be released this October. Stay tuned for more news updates in the future. And you can be assured the AIO Update will not be posting any spoilers about these episodes before they air.
The back cover for Album 57: A Call to Something More is now online. A picture of Barrett Jones, who appears in at least three episodes, is featured on the back. He is holding his trombone and wearing a shirt with a cow on it, probably because the artist Gary Locke is a fan of sketching cows. This is the first time since the 2010 relaunch that a kid character has been represented on the back cover of an Adventures in Odyssey album. Christian Book Distributors are now letting you preorder the digital download for Album 57 but it still has not been released. We'll let you know when it is available. Thanks to the AIO Wiki for this cover image. As you may know, in November 2010 Nathan Hoobler was in Miami, Florida to record the first few episodes of a Spanish version of AIO. And now according to Focus on the Family, Adventures in Odyssey will begin airing in the Spanish language on select radio stations in late September of this year. These new programs are based on existing AIO episodes, but have been translated and adapted to fit the culture of today's Spanish-speaking families. At this time the episodes will not be available for purchase. They may, however, be made available for purchase in the future if enough support is shown. What you can do in the meantime is contact your local radio stations to encourage them to air "Aventuras en Odisea" and spread the word about this new venture. The AIO team were in the studio in mid July recording a two-part episode called "The Launch" for the Odyssey Adventure Club. And according to the Adventures in Odyssey Facebook page, the team is back in California yet again to record more episodes. It is unknown, however, whether they are using this latest recording session to begin recording Album 58 or if they are still working on exclusive episodes for the club. We will keep you posted as we receive more details about these upcoming shows. The next episode review from the AIO Update has been released today. This review is of Gifts for Madge and Guy from Album 1: The Adventure Begins. Lewis at War now has its front cover artwork finalized. This latest production integrates the ideas Lewis explored in Mere Christianity with the very real impact of living out a Christian life in a period of trauma: the conflicts pressed hard against the times of grace, compassion, the love of Christ shown to neighbors, and the reasons to trust in God when the world screams otherwise. The cover depicts the London skyline during a World War II air raid. The release date for the digital version of C.S. Lewis at War has been set to November 2013 and the CD set will come out in December. The set will contain a total of 8 CDs. Also, a companion book called C.S. Lewis and Mere Christianity: The Crisis the Created a Classic by Paul McCusker will be released in November.
