In the new August Social Shout Out video Brock and Evan answer your questions about the upcoming Odyssey Adventure Club, the ACTS contest, what an AIO ambassador does, and Album 57: A Call to Something More. You can watch the full video below.
In celebration of the AIO Blog's fifth anniversary, they have just released an interview with Adventures in Odyssey writer, director and producer Paul McCusker. Paul talks about how the The Truth Chronicles was created and why he thinks it is so weird, the future of Kidsboro on the show, what he's most excited for in Album 57 and what's coming up in Album 58. He also gives us the scoop on this year's Radio Theatre project, the possibility of future Father Gilbert stories, his favorite books he's written and more. Listen to the interview below. Audio Theatre Central has released a new podcast episode where they interview Chuck Bolte, former Adventures in Odyssey Executive Producer and the voice of George Barclay. They discuss how Chuck first got involved with AIO, his day-to-day responsibilities as Executive Producer, how the writers played to the actors' strengths, how his daughters started acting on the show, the Barclay family dynamic and more. Chuck also talks about how doing Living in the Gray was challenging and he does the voices of some of the characters he's played over the years. At the end, hosts JD, Roy and Andrew talk about their favorite Barclay family episodes. Listen to the interview. In this brand new video episode of Adventures in Odyssey's Official Podcast, AIO actors, producers, and interns talk about how they serve their family, their community, and their world. We get appearances from Katie Leigh, Andre Stojka, Nathan Hoobler, Diane Ingolia, and even Sherman the dog. Hosts Bob and Jesse also talk about how they serve. This all ties in nicely with the ACTS contest that the Odyssey team is currently running. You can hear about the contest and the exciting prizes in the podcast. Watch the video here. As you know, we don't just publish news about Adventures in Odyssey; we also write about opinions. Today the AIO Update's new editorial called "Two Funerals and a Wedding" has been posted online. You can read it and then give it a rating out of 10 in the poll. In this latest opinion piece we discuss that when certain storylines and characters are concluded, it becomes unnecessary to revive them for the sake of drama. You can check out more of our editorials about Adventures in Odyssey in our Editorials section. And don't forget to visit our contact page to submit your own suggestions for future editorials that we should write. We welcome your input for improving the AIO Update. Unfortunately, it appears the news story we posted on Wednesday about the recording of new AIO episodes needs to be amended. According to an email from Odyssey producer Brock Eastman, the two-part episode called "The Launch" that was just recorded in California by the AIO team will not be part of Album 58. Instead, it will be exclusive to those who purchase a membership with the Odyssey Adventure Club. The episodes will be coming out in January and February. To stay up to date you can find us on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. If you have any questions about the club you can email [email protected]. We previously expected the episodes of Album 57: A Call to Something More to begin airing on the radio and online in the fall but according to the AIO Wiki the release dates have just been announced and we're going to get to hear these new episodes a lot earlier. Album 57 will begin airing on August 10th, which is around the same time the digital downloads will become available online for purchase. The CD sets will be released in October. The final episode airs on October 26th. What's your reaction to finding out that Album 57 is less than a month away from airing? Let us know in the comments! Thanks to the AIO Wiki for the news. EDIT: This story has changed. The Launch, Parts 1 & 2 will not be included in Album 58. They will be exclusive to the Odyssey Adventure Club. Find out more details here. Now that all the episodes titles for Album 57 have been released, the Adventures in Odyssey team is looking ahead to Album 58. According to the AIO Facebook page, the cast and crew are already back in the studio in Burbank, California recording Album 58. We now know that an episode called "The Launch" written by Dave Arnold is being recorded. We have also learned from Twitter that actor Delpaneaux Wills is at the studio. The album is currently untitled and will be released in spring 2014. Through Mr. Whittaker's inventions AIO characters have gone on all kinds of adventures and taken the audience with them. Some inventions have only appeared once, while others have spanned multiple albums and become an essential part of the show. Album 56 featured a resurgence of a number of inventions. That's why we've created this latest AIO Update poll question. We've selected a number of Whit's End inventions and are asking Adventures in Odyssey fans to choose their favorite one. Maybe you'll choose one that has appeared multiple times, or maybe you'll choose one that you wish you could hear more of. The options we have selected are BEAVRS, the Boredom Buster, the Edu-Link, the Gallery, the Imagination Station, the Inspiration Station, the Room of Consequence and the Transmuter. Vote for your favorite invention here. The two books in the upcoming Bible KidVentures series from Focus on the Family were originally scheduled to be released this month. They have, however, been pushed back. Their new release date is now April 2014. The books' summaries were already posted last year. Also, as you can tell from the newly released front cover of Bible KidVentures: New Testament Stories, the previous KidVentures logo we were shown last summer has been changed. The artwork for Bible KidVentures: Old Testament Stories has not yet been released. What do you think of the cover art that has been released so far?
